Wish Me Luck!

Earlier this week, I got a note from a friend with the link to apply to a $35,000 grant for sculptors.

In the past, I haven’t been able to apply for various reasons, but this one was a 100% go. So I gathered the select 20 images, wrote up all the stuff they wanted – exhibitions, schools, awards, artist statement, what will I do if I win, etc.

What a process! It revealed to me how much I’ve really done over the years, how my style has evolved, and how much I really, really love carving.

Even if I don’t get the grant, I feel way more confident about my work than I did last Sunday! Below is “Who Am I?” one of the pieces I submitted….cross your fingers for me!
